The texture is dominated by light soil and middle soil, and the salt content is about 0.1%. The salt content of saline soil in the western part of the irrigation area is 0.3% ~ 0.5%. Irrigation area is low, the groundwater level is higher, the average buried depth for many years is 2 ~ 3m, the salinity of groundwater is generally 1 ~ 2g / L. The average annual rainfall is 617mm, but the season is unevenly distributed, accounting for 83% in summer and autumn. Therefore, the irrigation area has always been drought, waterlogging, alkali disaster coexist areas. The Yellow River water sediment concentration is high, the Yellow River irrigation sedimentation problem exists, so the irrigation area from the beginning of the project planning and design to pay attention to comprehensive management of drought, waterlogging, alkali and solve sediment deposition.
